James “Jake” Golicz is an Associate in Cummings & Lockwood’s Litigation Group in Stamford, where he represents companies, executives, and business owners in complex commercial litigation and employment matters. He has experience with a broad range of commercial, employment, construction, trust and probate, and real estate disputes, as well as experience in toxic torts, land‑use matters, and creditors’ rights.
In his commercial practice, Jake serves as a strategic litigation and risk‑management partner for businesses and senior leadership. He also represents lenders and financial institutions in consumer and commercial finance litigation, fraud actions, and enforcement matters.

He represents businesses before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, leave, and accommodation matters. He also prosecutes and defends trade secret and restrictive covenant disputes in state and federal courts and before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. His work includes drafting, enforcing, and defending restrictive covenants; securing temporary restraining orders and injunctions; and advising companies on internal governance and member/partner disputes.
Jake regularly counsels executives and leadership teams on employment agreements, workplace investigations, leaves and accommodations, and separation strategies. He also advises senior executives navigating employment disputes, contract negotiations, and transitions.
