Laura Weintraub Beck of Cummings & Lockwood Receives YWCA Greenwich BRAVA Award

Cummings & Lockwood is pleased to announce that attorney Laura Weintraub Beck, a Principal in the Firm’s Private Clients Group, is a recipient of this year’s YWCA Greenwich BRAVA Award for her professional achievements and philanthropic activities.
Established in 1977, the YWCA Greenwich BRAVA Awards recognize outstanding women achievers who have excelled in their professional careers and who also volunteer their time and talent to help others.
Laura joined Cummings & Lockwood in 2002 and focuses her practice on estate planning, including business succession planning and planning for real estate holdings, estate administration, probate litigation and trust administration. She is a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), as well as serves on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Estates & Probate Section.
Earlier in her career, she worked for the United States Senate Judiciary Committee drafting reports and legislation relating to crime and drug policies. She received her J.D. from Columbia Law School, her M.P.P. from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and her B.A. from Trinity College.
Laura has been extremely active in civic and community affairs. She is a Director and former Chairman of the Board of the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut, a Member of the Professional Advisors Council of the Fairfield County Community Foundation, and a former Member of the Alumni Counsel of New Canaan Country School.
