Cummings & Lockwood is pleased to announce that Katherine ("Kacie") C. Gent has been accepted into the New England Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel

Katherine ("Kacie") C. Gent, a Principal in Cummings & Lockwood’s Private Clients Group in Greenwich, Connecticut, has been accepted into Class III of the New England Fellows Institute of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).

ACTEC is a national organization of lawyers elected to membership by demonstrating the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence and experience as trust and estate counselors.

The New England Fellows Institute was created by ACTEC Fellows to develop the profession’s future leaders in trust and estate law through a series of in-depth educational presentations led by outstanding subject matter experts in each field from across the U.S. Kacie was nominated by an ACTEC Fellow and selected through a competitive application process.

Kacie earned her J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law in Hartford, Connecticut, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Economics, cum laude, from Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut. She is admitted to practice Law in Connecticut and New York.

Kacie joined Cummings & Lockwood in 2016 and focuses her practice on estate planning as well as estate and trust administration. She advises high net worth individuals on estate and taxation issues, including estate and gift tax planning, generation-skipping transfer tax planning, and income tax planning. In addition, Kacie serves as a Trustee and fiduciary of trusts, as well as represents Executors/Personal Representatives and Trustees, and assists such fiduciaries throughout the estate and trust administration process.

Kacie is a member of the Greenwich Bar Association, where she previously served as President, as well as a member of the Fairfield County and Connecticut Bar Associations. She has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Connecticut and New England Super Lawyers, and as “Ones to Watch” by The Best Lawyers in America.
