Joseph Cessario is a Principal in the Private Clients Group of Cummings & Lockwood and is based in the Stamford office. He is a Real Estate/Construction Attorney with prior professional experience as an architectural designer and development consultant, whose practice consists of the representation of individuals and businesses throughout Connecticut, with a focus on Fairfield County and surrounding areas.
Joe handles a wide variety of residential and commercial real estate matters, including real estate closing services, 1031 exchanges, condominium conversions and title issues. He assists with the representation of a large number of condominium and cooperative associations throughout Connecticut and handles a variety of related legal matters. Joe represents homeowners, contractors and architects/engineers with those legal issues incidental to residential and commercial construction activities. He represents landlords/tenants with rental and/or leasing of residential and commercial properties, including related eviction/collection proceedings. Joe also represents homeowners, lenders and various other parties in connection with financing, debt workout/restructuring, foreclosure matters and deed-in-lieu/short sale transfers. He also assists with debt collection efforts by helping businesses and individuals recover unpaid balances for provided goods or services.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Joe worked for one of the Northeast’s leading residential real estate developers in a position that managed the development, organization and administration of multi-million dollar projects in the New York metropolitan area.
