Laura Weintraub Beck Honored by the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut
May 3, 2019
On May 4, 2019, the Child Guidance Center (CGC) of Southern Connecticut presented Laura Weintraub Beck the inaugural Edna and Malcolm Edgerton Award at their annual gala which was held at the Wee Burn Beach Club. The award is in memory of the Edgertons who, in 1965, established CGC to support the mental health care needs of children in Stamford.
According to CGC's President and CEO, Eliot Brenner, PhD, "the Edgertons' legacy lives on in the commitment that Laura has made to CGC. In response to the death of her sister, Deborah Weintraub, as a result of mental illness, Laura has been a tireless advocate for CGC and the children CGC serves for 17 years helping us to serve over 2,100 vulnerable children and families annually. From crisis intervention to specialized treatment services, CGC is on the front lines helping children and healing families in Stamford, Greenwich, Darien and New Canaan."
