Jonathan B. Mills Re-elected to Sixth Term as Firm-wide Chairman and Managing Director

Cummings & Lockwood is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has re-elected Jonathan B. Mills to a sixth term as Firm-wide Chairman and Managing Director, a position he has held since 2003. In this capacity, he oversees the administrative and financial operations of Cummings & Lockwood, which has six offices in Connecticut and Florida and 176 employees, including 56 attorneys.
In addition to these responsibilities, he is a Principal in the Firm’s Commercial Real Estate and Corporate & Finance Groups and is based in the Stamford office. His legal practice includes commercial real estate transactions, including commercial leasing, sales, acquisitions and financings. He has also represented companies in connection with various corporate engagements, including asset sales and acquisitions, marketing, technology and other licensing agreements, joint ventures, and numerous commercial finance, franchise and contract engagements. In addition, Mr. Mills serves as a fiduciary and advisor to numerous families with respect to trusts and estates matters.
Mr. Mills received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He has been a member of the American and Connecticut Bar Associations, and has lectured and written articles on various commercial real estate and fiduciary topics. Mr. Mills is included in the 2016 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, and has been listed in Who’s Who in America, in Who’s Who in American Law, and in New England Super Lawyers, as well as in Connecticut Magazine’s 2016 List of the Top Lawyers in the State of Connecticut, and in New York Magazine’s 2016 List of the Best Attorneys in the New York metropolitan area. He is AV-rated by the legal profession’s peer rating agency, Martindale Hubbell.
In addition to his professional activities, Mr. Mills has been active in various civic and business endeavors, having served on various boards and committees for The March of Dimes, The United Way, The USO of Metropolitan New York, The Norwalk Community College Foundation, The Stamford Symphony Orchestra, the Regional Advisory Board of HSBC Bank, The African Parks Foundation of America, and others organizations. He was recently elected a Life Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation.
Mr. Mills resides in New Canaan, Connecticut, with his wife, the former Constance Erin McGillicuddy, and their three children.
