Daniel P. Fitzgerald Named One Of "40 Under 40" By Fairfield County Business Journal

Cummings & Lockwood LLC is pleased to announce that Daniel P. Fitzgerald has been selected as one of Fairfield County’s 2012 “40 Under 40.” The Fairfield County Business Journal and more than a dozen business organizations and chambers of commerce in Fairfield County organized a competition to select 40 business executives who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership qualities, an ongoing commitment to personal and professional development and outstanding professional accomplishments that have made an impact on business in and the professional image of Fairfield County.
Dan joined Cummings & Lockwood in 2007 as an attorney in the Private Clients Group. His areas of practice include estate planning, partnerships, limited liability companies, taxation, and estate administration. Dan lectures on estate planning and transfer tax topics to lawyer and non-lawyer audiences. In 2011, Dan was named a “Rising Star in Estate Planning” by New England Super Lawyers.
Dan was born and raised in New Milford, Connecticut. He graduated from Lafayette College with a B.A. in Economics and Business. While at Lafayette, he was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society for Economics. Dan graduated, cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law where he was lead articles editor of the Syracuse Journal of International Law and Commerce and a member of the Justinian Honorary Law Society. Dan also received a LL.M. (Masters of Law) in Taxation from New York University School of Law. For years, Dan has served on the board of Meals-On-Wheels Greenwich, Community Answers, Inc. and the Greenwich Bar Association. Dan currently serves as the Treasurer of the Greenwich Bar Association and Vice-Chair of Community Answers, Inc. Dan resides in Greenwich, Connecticut, with his wife, Cathy.
