Cummings & Lockwood Attorneys Represent Owner in One of the Largest Commercial Lease Transactions in Fairfield County Over the Last 25 Years
March 20, 2019
Cummings & Lockwood is pleased to announce that it has assisted its client, George Comfort & Sons, Inc., in closing a major global headquarters lease at the former UBS site at 677 Washington Boulevard in Stamford, Connecticut.
Jonathan B. Mills, Partner, and Scott Witthuhn, Associate, in the Firm’s Commercial Real Estate Group, assisted their client in negotiating and completing the commercial lease and related documentation to permit World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. ("WWE"), a global leader in the entertainment industry, to occupy much of the UBS site for its international headquarters. The transaction involves over 415,000 rentable square feet, making it one of the largest commercial lease transactions in Fairfield County over the last 25 years.
WWE will lease the space for an initial term of approximately 16.5 years, with several five-year renewal options thereafter. The move allows the company to combine its operations, including its production studios and corporate offices, at the new site. The company anticipates that it will move into the new headquarters in early 2021.
Mr. Mills and Mr. Witthuhn have also assisted George Comfort & Sons in closing other lease transactions at 677 Washington Boulevard for tenants KPMG and Perkins Eastman, respectively.
